Posted this message from my Quadra 610 via iCab!

Installed an SD card ribbon cable extension in the Blue SCSI tonight, so that I can access the SD card without removing the Quadra's top case.

Maybe a little gopher action next...

Very nice, mac-cellar!!!

And try joining our Hotline server with your Quadra 610. The official 68k client v1.2.3 should work:

http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/hotline

You can live-chat and download/upload files on there. Big fun.

Ah, thanks for the reminder.  I’ve been on the Hotline server before but not in some time.

That server is mostly lonesome, but you do get surprise visits from very high up. ;)

Today I started to migrate all my PIM data to Claris ORganizer and gosh, it is sooo much more pleasurable to work with than any Windoze 10 counterpart or those KDE Kontact student programming exercises.

Tssss.... Mostly lonesome ;)

We're in there most of the day and most evenings nowadays, all be in the CET time zone ;)

I can count three "real" people on Hotline now as well as the bots bridging our Hotline, IRC and Discord together. Give it a shot again! :)

Lonesome? When did you last check? I think there was a brief period with less action but usually once we're at the computer, we're on Hotline. I think I chatted with at least 4 forum members on there today? :-)

For a real throwback feel, Installed the Pyro screensaver and Kaboom on the Quadra last night.  Also unearthed a 25 year old floppy with a bunch of goofy sound files (Simpsons, Monty Python, etc).  Had fun assigning sounds to system events.

I always fear installing screensavers for the compatibility issues they may create. And then these days I never leave my Mac on without me near it, except for a quick dash to the coffee machine. I do acknowledge a certain coolness factor to watching flying toasters on my Mac's screen though :D

But the sound files sound interesting! Those may actually be a great addition to our S7T Goodies section. Any chance you'd share those with us?

Wrote some Perl code and mended some stuff that was breaking the Hotline bot. All is well ;)

I’d be happy to share!  Where/how should I upload them?

I feel similarly about screensavers myself.  However, I remember Pyro as a stable alternative that didn’t cause trouble.  So far, so good on the Quadra.

For the ultimate in nicely compatible screensaver clothing please consider changing to Underware.

My favorite is Seahaven Towers, a pretty slick little Solitaire game! Has anyone tried it before? (or maybe a better question would be is anyone a fan or card games, lol) :D
