Thought we could need such a thread as well here on the forums. So, share your activities with others!

Today I was compiling a list of school stuff that my oldest daughter (soon to be a 1st grader) will need. It's crazy how much stuff school wants you to buy these days.

I figured that was something my 8600 with 7.6.1 was very well up to. So I started up WriteNow 4 and made a nice list with a table. WriteNow 4 had an easy and cool table  feature, very neat for the time it came out.

Printed it a little later via postscript on my modern printer and went to the local store to hand them the list. Gonna grab the stuff tomorrow.

What did you do on System 7?

I am still shuffling 1.1 GB across the network on my Samba Share via Dave on my MacOS 8.1 system.

Update: Forget Synchronize! Pro 68k for anything above a few hundred MB. It has too few options and at least under Basilisk-II crashes regularly when shuffling around big data.

In this ballpark PowerMerge is king!

I made a HyperCard flash card stack for my daughter.  Love HyperCard for stuff like that.

Meanwhile i play some Escape Velocity on my other mac :)

Very nice! So this is where his 5500 will be going to :-) don't forget to grab the right 5500 wallpaper to show off the 5500 properly on the event! :)

Escape Velocity is awesome. I mean, still today it holds so much value. I think it was the first game I ever played that got me this open world feeling of being just part of a living universe vs. the center of it. A true System  7 gaming must-have!

Yesterday tried to get Jabbernaut 68k going on my IIci together with Knezzen but we had no success. Hung out at the Captain's Quarter BBS a bit too.

Today was playing a round of Shanghai II with my 2nd daughter - she's a real Shanghai afficionado and plays very well at the age of 4! Best part is when we start the game and she imitates the starting melody ;-)

I have yet to do anything today, but hopefully I can get some writing done on my PowerBook 1400 :)

I dug up a wirking copy of Synchronize! Pro 4.2.4 (last for 68k), but it was in the wrong language. So I resorcered it back to English and am testing it right now.

Very nice! If properly done the "Mac way", it's so easy to localize a software as compared to other OSes where you need the original source. I always loved the flexibility the data fork / resource fork concept brought us. I wish someone would translate all those Japanese games on the Garden into English that way ...

I just did work on some Quicktime movies this morning. Now looking into upgrading my IIci's RAM. It's still at 20 MB and once you browse the web on the old lady and give Netscape some room to breath, maybe opening BBedit on the side, you get that dreaded "Not enough memory" message :-)

I love surfing at least a few Classic-friendly websites each week (and dogging-out a few juicy old bones using Archive.org :D

I also indulge in playing some of my favorite Classic games.. somehow, Seahaven Towers is my preferred solo card game :)

I also fire up a few apps and I'm always tinkering with my GUI to see if I can eek out a few more fancy embellishments ;)

Ah, Astronomica is something I've always wanted to try out myself but never got around. How do you like it so far?

I'm right now typing away on a new article for System 7 Today and testing various e-mail clients on System 7 :)

I finished the short stories I was writing on my PowerBook 1400. I am definitely short of my initial goal of 15k words, but I figure 10k is a nice amount to have written given how busy I've been this month. :)

@Bolkonskij - I'll be spending the night soon, with a hot cup 'o tea by my side, the open sky above me and Astronomica in front of me. :D
