@mac-cellar congrats on the acquisition! That's very neat, with handbooks and all? Our family bought ClarisWorks3 when it was new as our "swiss-army knife" tool. Mom did the household balance in spreadsheets, writing letters, we kids did draw etc.

That said, do you have experience with v3 as well? How would you compare your 2.1 with v3? I really wonder what version is "best" in terms of performance and features on 68k System 7 Macs? we had a Mac LC as our family computer and ClarisWorks 3 worked but it was slow. Unbearable slow by today's standards :-)

@MTT - that's strange. It shouldn't happen, naturally. I wonder for what reason it was triggered. Maybe @Knezzen knows more since he installed it?

@Bolkonskij: it wasn't too much of a bother. After all, I was using Basilisk II and you have to expect hiccups there ;-)

@mac-cellar: It's great to get actual manuals. I still have CWks 1.0v4, 2.1, 4.0v4 and 5.0 box sets. I have (AppleWorks) version 6 too, but manuals had become mainly online by that stage. Version 4 is my favorite; ClarisWorks 4.0v4 that is (there were bugs with the early v4.0)

Absolutely—I used the following MG Tiger Sierra Theme download to make my Tiger look like Sierra; it was a very sweet transformation—all thanks to our pal SwampRock! :D

I archived some tools years back.
They all came with dire red warnings.
Cheetah, being the first -gets unstable easily.

I concur with Cashed; everything used to bomb badly when using ShapeShifter and other tools. Candybar was pretty stable in later OSes, like Tiger and up, but the tool's limited to icons only. Like Cashed stated, I wouldn't recommend it either—unless possibly carefully pre-assembled like the specific one I pointed to; it's just way too easy to goof up the system in very bad ways, unlike using PPC themes, or Kal schemes; but even then I had certain Kaleidoscope schemes bombing my 68k Mac while they hummed without any issues on Mac OS 9, so even with those solid tools, YMMV!
