On the S7T multiplayer gaming page, the link to Warcraft II Battle.net Edition is broken. There's a superfluous letter "i" at the end of the URL.

BBCode for "Underline [u]Text[/u]" doesn't appear to work for me.

Don't know if it's my browser or a glitch? Just hoping to find out ;)

No, I've tried a couple of different browsers since, and it doesn't work for me in either. I suspect it's to do with the sites code.

In the DOM source, BBCode tags are automatically converted to HTML tags.

Currently:
Underline converts to HTML as: <span class="bbc_u">Text</span>
Bold converts to HTML as: <strong>Text</strong>
Italic converts to HTML as: <em>Text</em>

So there's an obvious inconsistency there. The Underline BBCode probably should be rendering as the HTML tag <u> instead.

True, thanks for reporting this. Apparently an oversight of myself when I rewrote the thing back to HTML3 (no css classes for our retro browsers :-))

I'll look into it!

Not only does "Underline [u]Text[/u]" convert to HTML as: <span class="bbc_u">Text</span>

If you try HTML <u>Text</u> tags instead, Those tags convert to &lt;u&gt;Text&lt;/u&gt; in the raw HTML :P

Yes, some stuff is weird.
It looks like we're not going to fix it, though.

Now, hold on. There's a reason for that. We're right now looking into another forum software and checking our options to backport its theme to HTML3. Things look good thus far.

One reason being that we've never been fully happy with SMF for some stuff, including how it handles things like the ones you mentioned. The second is that SMF is apparently nearing EOL in its retro-compatible form and they're planning on going full JavaScript hell in the future. Knezzen had looked long and detailed into this and might share some more details.

Our aim is to find a more long-term solution while still offering full 68k compatibility. In fact, my aim lies in writing a template that is at least 10% faster on my IIci. We're not changing anything on the user side, S7T will have the familiar look & feel. In fact, we're looking into ways to further improve the experience.

We're still at an early stage, so I can't give more details for now. But if time permits, we might make it a little Christmas present ... :)

This site has held up very well over time. It still looks pretty good and it is pretty easy to use.

If you are making changes might I suggest that you duplicate the |Home|Search|. . . that is at the top of the page on the bottom of the page. I am guessing that over the years, I have spent hours looking at long forum postings, then needing to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to either use Home, or Login. So duplicating those options at the bottom of the page would be a nice addition.

Of course I am pretty use to doing that, so it is not a big deal.
