Play the game of tiles and strategies ... solo, networked or over the Internet!

Mah Jong Parlour is the true game of mahjong, an intriguing game of strategy and competition. Similar in play to gin-rummy or canasta, MJP includes three levels of computer intelligence and easy-to-understand rules. Playing MJP is easy, winning is a challenge.

MJP supports 1-4 human players over AppleTalk networks and the Internet! Set up is easy. Any missing human players are automatically replaced by computer players. MJP also includes a "chat" feature to send messages during network games.

Mania 2.0
Shareware!
1 to 2 players. AppleTalk. 68030 or higher.
Squeem Software

This game is like an upside down TETRIS. You control a small Marble Cannon at the bottom of the screen. You move the loaded marble cannon left and right as well as rotate the angle of the shot with the mouse. Press the button to release your animated marble into the atmosphere. When the marble reaches the top of the screen or another marble it sticks there. If you match four marble styles along each other they shatter - causing any other marbles hanging on them to shatter as well. Periodically, the marbles work their way down towards you. You lose when the marbles reach the cannon at the bottom of the screen.

This game is also Appletalk networkable. If you are hooked up to another Mac, enjoy head-to-head competition shooting marbles through warp holes disrupting your opponents game, while trying to preserve yours.

Marathon 1.2
Marathon 2: Durandal 1.0
Marathon Infinity 1.5

1 to 8 players. AppleTalk. 68040 or PowerMac (PowerMac native).
CD-ROM.
Bungie Software

The Marathon Trilogy is now bundled in a box set.

The Marathon trilogy is one of the most well-known and popular games for the Mac, with Marathon Infinity even ported to the Windows platform. Marathon was the first to really bring the speed and fast arcade action of the then-new 3D texture-mapping style gaming to the Mac, and has effectively maintained it's lead and popularity by releasing two sequels.

Undoubtably contributing to the success and enjoyment of the Marathon trilogy is the complex storyline that is interwoven into the action. The setting is outer space, you are a futuristic Marine combatting aliens to take back the ship. Each successive game adds new elements to the game engine and play, so that each game has new surprises and features.

Finally, Marathon netplay action, in my humble opinion, is unbeatable in its class for all out fun. Even with the dozens and dozens of games released since, Marathon continues to be our favorite.

Myth 1.2

1 to 16 players. Appletalk or TCP/IP

Crossplatform!

PowerMac Only.
Bungie

In a time long past, a great comet appeared in the northern sky. It stirred foul creatures beneath the earth, and a great evil came out of the East, in a black tide that sought not to conquer, but to destroy and become master of the unthinking dead and their blasted lands. Heroes were born in the fire and bloodshed of the next 70 years, and their names and deeds will never be forgotten.

Myth: The Fallen Lords brings you a world where the living are fighting a losing battle against the risen dead. You direct the Armies of the North as they struggle to withstand the onslaught of the Fallen Lords, a cadre of ancient and terrible sorceror-generals who are laying waste to the land with legions of vicious beasts and the tireless undead.

A complex story, narrated by one of your units, takes shape as the campaign against the Fallen progresses over months and hundreds of miles. You also battle betrayal and cowardice in your own ranks, while rivalries amongst the Fallen can turn to your advantage. Cell-animated movies and strategic battle maps drive the plot and enrich a mintutely detailed fantasy world.

Myth features a true 3D engine, a realistic look, and network capability. Myth is not your typical real-time strategy game, so be sure to play the tutorial and view the readme for instructions on how to play.

Networkable Mac Games Tip:
Myth includes support for TCP/Internet networking (and Appletalk), but doesn't direct modem support (many users ask about modem-to-modem so they can bypass the lag associated with the Internet). Fortunately, we Mac users are not out of luck (too bad for PC users ;-), we have two choices for playing modem to modem directly.
  1. Use Netlink Remote to play this or most other Appletalk games directly over modems. Many users have reported excellent results using this software with Myth. See the Connections page for details.
  2. Or try the Modem to Modem PPP for a direct TCP/IP connection.

Download the demo (43mb) - includes a tutorial level, two single-player levels, and one multiplayer level.

Download Myth 1.2 Updater (987k) - lots of bug fixes and some new features! 1.2 fixes the "chained lightening" cheat.
