HAVOC bursts with multiplayer 3-D energy. HAVOC is the FIRST EVER game to connect Mac to Win95 opponents - right out-of-the-box. HAVOC is also the FIRST EVER game to fully exploit Apple's new QuickDraw(tm) 3D Accelerator Card. A HAVOC preview actually ships in the package with this Apple hardware upgrade for PCI-based Mac's. NOTE: To enjoy HAVOC you don't need QuickDraw 3D - neither the software, nor the hardware. HAVOC supports the installed base of Mac's with 040/33Mhz or faster processors. Of course, HAVOC is accelerated for PowerMacs. HAVOC requires a minimum of 8 MB RAM on your system, a CD-ROM drive, and a color display (8 bit, 256 color).

Compete in 360' outdoor action over post-apocalyptic terrain. Choose to command a BattleCycle, HyperTank or HoverCraft. Collect an arsenal of 55 weapons to blast a path of destruction past opponents over a network or modem, or challenge yourself in arcade missions. In addition to the texture-mapped 3-D graphics, HAVOC also features an original soundtrack. Run up your score as you run for your life against 80 types of ruthless killers through 35 action-packed levels.

Plus, HAVOC features players competing against the most vicious enemies of all: your friends! While the demo is not multiplayer, the full HAVOC game ships with two CD's in each package to allow you to challenge other players right away. The first disc contains the single-player full game as well as the ability to host a network/modem game. The second disc is for an extra-player to join in, regardless if they have MacOS or Windows 95. High-octane multiplayer action runs over a LAN, modem, or serial connection. HAVOC is the FIRST EVER game to officially support up to 16 players on multiplatform LAN's. Or, connect to either Mac or Windows 95 opponents via 14.4kb or faster modems. Network play supports both TCP/IP and AppleTalk protocols. In the near future, Reality Bytes(tm) will be announcing plans regarding on-line play services.

Hexen 1.1

1 to 8 players. AppleTalk, serial/modem (via CTB), Kali/MacIPX.

Crossplatform!

68040 or PowerMac,
(PowerMac native!).
CD-ROM only.
Id Software & Presage Software

Hexen is actually third in the popular series by Id Software. While we Mac users did get Doom, Heretic passed by us (which is okay, it wasn't all that cool anyway), and now there is Hexen. Hexen takes you back to the mythical dark ages with strong warriors and powerful mages.

While Hexen is yet another of first-person, texture-mapped genre; it does offer some unique qualities that seperate it from others of this type. It's a little more adventure oriented, with non-sequential levels. Before start a game, you actually select a charactor that has unique atributes from others (Fighter, Cleric, or Mage) and much of the combat is hand-to-hand. Some of the effects are cool when you stop to admire them, too; such as the leaves blowing across the court yard and translucent clouds (such as a poisonous green cloud from a thrown vile).

Hexomania 1.1

Shareware!

1 or 2 players. TCP/IP. 68030 or faster.
Jorg Kienzle

Hexomania is a computer rendition of Hex, a classic parlour board game. Hexomania is a strategic game for two players (or one against the computer). It also supports TCP/IP in order to play against a remote opponent over the Internet.

Each player must try to build a path from one end of the board to the other one: the green player from the top left side to the bottom right one, the red player from the top right side to the bottom left one. The players are allowed to set on any field that is still free. Although the rules are simple, the game is not easy to play. One wrong move and you'll lose.
