The installation is possible, if you use Resedit to change your mac's OS number in the System folder.

I could not test beyond installation, as the testbed's hardware specs do not meet SJ+'s needs. I will later try it in a another mac.

If it do not work the way you want it to, you can allways change the number of OS version back to 761.

Hi madmann!

I have good news and good news, or good news and bad news. It depends of your point of view.

I installed SoundJam+ version 2.5.2 to a 7500 g3 running 7.6. It runs perfectly.

One need to change the OS number to 8.1 in System Folder with the ResEdit AND install the Appearance Manager 1.0.4

Changing the OS number also makes NAV6 work at the same time. (The NAV6 do not need the AM).

The dvd-player of X plays scratched rental disk better than the one in 9.

At the moment I think that the difference is not because of the player app, but because I used a USB 2 DVD-player with X, while using the internal DVD-player (with slower connection?) of my b&w with the 9.

I duplicated the scratched DVD freeze of OS 9, using the int player with the X. Can not do a connection speed test the other way around.

Do not try to lie to your 761 mac it is running 8.5. That is a no-no.

8.1 yes
8.5 a no-no
