oh would you guys please stop it? We're a Macintosh forum. We're the creative minds, we're beyond such platform wars. We simply know there's only the Macintosh - and nothing else :-D

In order to get back to topic, I've picked a random adf file (Zaxxon) from my Amiga Classix 2 CD. Tried it out with UAE 0.6. Keep in mind you have to rename your adf to df0.adf or else UAE 0.6 won't boot it.

I'm using my 200 Mhz Power Mac 8600 running 7.6.1. Much to my surprise, UAE started booting from the floppy disk image and greeted me with a cracker intro. (funny how Cloanto sells these CDs with pirated games, but don't dare doing the same thing to their licensed Kickroms or else they'll get *very* mad :D )

Anyway, Zaxxon started up fine, as you can see here in my screenshot: http://revontulet.org/2022/11/04/uae06.jpg

No visual artifacts, seeming running at a good speed even on my 200 Mhz setup. Now this might have been simply a lucky pick on my side. Also there seems to be no way to configure the controls from within UAE 0.6, need to investigate some more. Still, very cool to know there's a way to emulate at least some Amiga software on System 7.

Amiga never stops - except on B-II :(

That version of UAE was an early beta (alpha?) release, which also explains the missing GUI functions. I wonder if there was ever a stable release for 68k?

These are the times when I truly dread having to live out of my suitcase.

@Knezzen - I have an Atari ST emulator hidden away on the Android side of my tablet. But don't tell anyone else about it. ;)
