I remember someone once tried to emulate PowerPC on a Quadra 605 and run OS X on it. It got to the gray loading screen and froze there for a really long time until the hard drive burned up from all the thrashing.

Yeah, it was done by running PearPC, a PowerMac and PowerPC emulator from back in the day on a 68k Mac running Linux. It kernel paniced quite early in the process, but I found someone who got a bit further!

In theory this can be done on anything that you can get PearPC compiled on.
Quite itchy to try it on the Amiga I have next to me ;)

So been in touch with the author of CPC++ Brive Rive, who is a really nice guy! He even agreed to give his KeyGen tool for creating registration keys to the community, so now all of us can turn their System 7 Macs into Amstrad CPCs and enjoy some 8-Bit software :)

I believe the person who did it was Dana Sibera, also known as Nanoraptor/Velociraptors on Twitter et al., where she shares her fictional, photoshopped Macs.

Final Fantasy V runs @ 15fps under snes9x 1.1.x on my 1400cs/166 it might have to do with the fact that i only have 16mb of RAM and cant find a upgrade for that...
