68k.network? Wow! We keep getting cool 68k toys ![]() So the files on the page are not intended for a LAN-level install, it needs a real web host? And I imagine it's not a project that could be hosted at the Macintosh Garden Hosting Project, right? The Read Me doesn't detail some things, like what happens with FFMEG, so I imagine it's out of the league for those not familiar with those tools and I've heard of PHP modules, but I'd ask for help installing and enabling those on a web host, tbh.Obviously not for the faint of heart, lol

I see no reason why you couldn't host it on your LAN if you had a computer with a webserver installed, along with any other necessary software like PHP. I haven't looked into it yet, although I am planning to. Hosting it on an internet-facing webserver would end up using a lot of bandwidth I assume, so hosting on your LAN seems like a much better approach, if it can be achieved. Maybe this weekend I'll give it a try and let you know how it works!

My personal website is aimed at systems running System 7 and similar(ly age) operating systems: http://techandmusic.nl I'm slowly adding more and more content to it. There is HTTPS available, but more for modern browsers that complain if HTTPS isn't used (TLS 1.2 and 1.3 only, so too new for old browsers). I'm also in the planning stages of running a server on a 68k Mac at home, which will be hosted on http://68k.nl if and when launched

I tried the site, but it didn't load on iCab on the 68k side, but I'm thinking PPC Macs running newer web browsers will have better luck with it. We'll see what others report.

Here's one I've found thanks to Wiby.org - Old Time Radio Fan! Works fine with me on my 8600 / Sys 7.6.1 and iCab 2.9.9: www.otrfan.com The page allows you to download "Old Time Radio" mystery / detective plays (50's style!) as mp3 or stream them. Both works perfectly fine in SoundJam MP. So you can now listen to old time radio on your old time Macintosh ;-)

Mac Garden Image Hosting was updated roughly two days ago to support PICT images, and once more again yesterday with ... hopefully better support for PICT images. What it will do is retain the original upload, which might be linked as an optional download if I get the time to add that, then it will say "magic!" and do the ever so popular gesture of jazzhands, and give you a GIF that can be shared and viewed on other devices. So uh, yeah, try that out... there may be some other minor updates to increase support for even older browsers, hack away some at the html.

www.otrfan.com Cool! Journey into Space is there - my dad used to listen to this when he was a boy. Now I can catch up on every airing! Something nice about these old audio stories and using your own imagination to fill in what you can't see....u

I recommend also : http://cqbbs.ddns.net/ It's the webpage for Captain's Quarters II BBS, where every things you need to know to connect to the BBS is explained. Loads fine in iCab on system 7.6.1. There is also a Telnet terminal emulator at the bottom of the page, but that works in more modern browsers of course. Connection to the BBS done very easy with MacSSH. Tested on various machines, oldest being a PowerBook 100.
