The System 7 Today website & forums are back! Long-time System 7 Today'ers may remember Dan's farewell words about five years ago. Thankfully he never pulled the plug on the site, making it possible for everyone to come back, access the frozen page & forums and feel nostalgic again. Late in 2020 Dan finally agreed to a grant System 7 Today a second life under new leadership. Read up all the details here. For now, your new admins Knezzen and me would like to say that we're thankful to Dan and happy to see this special place for our beige Macs filling with life again! |

I remember reading his farewell message back in 2016. I had just gotten into Macs a little bit before that, but had never owned one. I was so sad to see the site go and remember even talking about it at school. I'm so glad it's back and I thank all of you for bringing it back.

Wow what a blast from the past to receive the announcement in my inbox this morning. Congrats to Knezzen & Bolkonskij! Well done. It's been 10+ years since I've booted up any of my old Macs. Maybe I need to rekindle the hobby during these quarantine days. Regardless, looks like I'll be adding System 7 Today back into my daily browsing rotation.

Thanks a lot for keeping this site alive Bolkonskij and Knezzen. Nice to see you two here I feel like a little bit of an outlier on the OS9Lives forums since I'm still rocking my 9600 and 7.6.1 every single day, and here I'll probably get more targete d answers if I have an issue with my rig. I've visited this site many times over the years but the forum was locked down. Great that it's back and I can finally post!à

Welcome Syntho! Using a 9600 and 7.6.1 as a daily driver sounds amazing. I'm running your Power Macs little brother (a 8600/200) and once I retire, it'll be my daily. Unfortunately, retirement is still many years off. :-) For the time being I just try to use it as often as possible. Care to open a thread and let us know what you do with your 9600? (akin to my Garden planning?) Always curious to hear what others use their System 7 Macs for!
