I've seen those on ebay. It's interesting how many different networking devices there are. I read that the 4-pin phone cords let you use phones with the 2 inner wires, and the 2 outer wires let you do the PhoneNet. That would be really nice. I've always wanted enough computers to make a decent-size network, but I don't have enough room for it. I read that being able to use cheap, ordinary phone line is the main appeal of using PhoneNet, instead of the more expensive LocalTalk cables. Is that the main difference (other than LocalTalk being shielded)? What do others prefer, between LocalTalk and PhoneNet? Does anyone have any strong preference over the other? |
