I have no idea, could it be the wireless card? it connects to my Digital Audio just fine. Just wont mount any volume on my macbook. DA is running 10.4.11 and mb is on 10.5.6. |

So I followed the instructions to hook my powerbook 1400 up to my OS X machine. I get logged in just fine but when i select the volume to mount chooser crashes. Getting an error of type 1 and it tells me to reboot. |

Software / SoundJam MP Free

When attempting to install SoundJam MP thats hosted on this site on my powerbook 3400 running 7.6.1 it comes up with the error "SoundJam MP requires Mac OS 7.6.1". I attempted reinstalling my entire system with the restore CD's that came with my powerbook since i used resedit quite a bit on the old system file and still no go. Does anyone have any insight of other MP3 players that might work? |

I came across these forums while browsing for options on what to do with an old powerbook 3400c a few of you have already helped me and i thought i would introduce myself  Its great to see other users out there that share my love for the classic OS. While the 3400 isnt my primary computer i use it on a day to day basis and is the laptop i take with me everywhere. I've been using Mac's since roughly 1998 starting with a powerbook 150. learning the in's and outs of system 7 to now running leopard on my Core 2 Duo iMac. My 3400 is the 200mhz version with 80mb ram and the 2gb HD it shipped with. Im thinking about swapping the HD for a CF storage setup sometime soon. Anyway... Hi! Im James

Software / Stuffit Expander

I recently purchased a Powerbook 3400 from the local Craigslist. It came with system 7.6.1 installed restored to factory install. Unfortunately all the software I have downloaded either freeware or shareware come in a .bin format which requires stuffit expander. Searching on the web has proved to be fruitless for a version that will run on 7.6.1. Does anyone know how i can open these files on my powerbook? |
