Hello, I've been trying to get quake to run on my pb1400. It has a G3 upgrade and 32mb memory. Although every time I run it, it seems to just goto an initializing screen, and just hangs there. Has anyone else had this same problem? |

My Powerbook 1400c gets 80.0 with the Nupowr 233mhz G3 and 32mb ram. I have to run the computer with extensions on though, so the Nupowr drivers load on startup. |

Yes, the computer will run without the driver installed. The processor probably won't be optimzied correctly. The system profiler said I had a 33mhz processor before I installed the driver and 233mhz afterwards. |

I it very easy to move them back and forth. You just need a small phillips screwdriver. The drivers for the Nupowr G3 are on this site, or I could even email them to you, as I have the original disk. |

WOW. So it turns out the powerbook has a 233mhz G3 nupowr upgrade. It came with a "NUpowr 1400-183" and a "NUpwer G3" disks. So I took the machine apart and the processor said PowerPC 750. So I figured it was the powerpc upgrade and not the g3. Well it turns out the 1400-183 drivers wouldn't recognize the G3 processor, so I tried the G3 drivers and voila! So $60 shipped for my G3 1400c ended up being quite the deal! |

Got my Powerbook 1400c in the mail today! I paid $60 shipped. I has a 183mhz 603ev (Nupowr upgrade), 32mb ram, 1gb hard drive, cdrom, floppy, zip, and even a nupowr ethernet card inside. Here are some pictures: Picture 1 Picture 2 |
