There was some random bit of crap wedging in there that was causing it to get stuck. Opening up the back, and giving it a bit of a shove while holding down the tab did it. Thanks though. |

Hardware / Accessing PowerMac 5500 CD-Rom

For the life of me I cannot get the CD-Rom out of a PowerMac 5500 I recently acquired. When I open up the front I see a metal tab the looks as if it should be pulled up, or pushed down, while pulling forward to remove the drive, but no-matter what I try it will not budge. Opening up the back gives no hints as to how to remove the drive. |

I just wanted to say hello after discovering System 7 today. I currently have a Macintosh Plus running System 6, a temporary PowerMac 5500, and my trusty G4 laptop. This is a wonderful site. |
