Hi there,

Would I be able to ask if someone could create me a bootable floppy image that has the tools required to format a non-Apple SCSI disk on it ?

I've only a Linux box with a floppy drive in it (why oh why does my Mac Mini not have a floppy disks ???  ;-) which I can use to dd an image to a real floppy.

Anyone able to help out ?

Thanks!

Mark
3 Hardware / Reviving an LC II .. hard disk questions

It's been a  looooong time since I last played with System 7 .. if I do not have OS disks, and all I have is the Network Access disk downloaded from Apple, what tools do I have to hand to format a new disk ?

Are there any disk images of tools on the internet to use ?

The only machine I have to turn images into floppies is a PC running Linux.

Thanks

Mark
4 Hardware / Reviving an LC II .. hard disk questions

Hi there,

My first post here and it's a question :-)

I have an old Macintosh LC II and I'd like to put in something a little bigger than it's standard 40Mb hard disk.
Are there any know things in regards to what size and sort of SCSI drive can go in ?
Any set SCSI IDs or other settings that must be done ?

I've put in a gigantic 2.1GB drive (Seagate Barracuda ST32171WC) and it is not recognised when I boot from the Network Access floppy disk.  The drive is set to SCSI ID 0 ... and I think I just remembered .. terminator .. termination on this drive is not enabled and I don't have any jumpers .. bugger!

I'll fix that then come back :-)

Mark
