Software / MaxFax (answering machine sw)
November 05, 2010, 12:22 |
Yeah, I found a old version (telephone manager, maybe it's not even the same app?) but it didn't work that well on a plus system. It have to work with System 6.0.8 or System 7.0 etc. I found MaxFax v3.3.2z on a old FTP site, and it partly works. The compressed file I found only had one binary in it, but it seems to miss it's INIT file for the modem part, so I still need the full suit.. Do anyone have the full MaxFax system? Here's how the startup looks: (http://imgur.com/oByiq.png) It let's me start the program, but I cant see anything but disabled menu items so it's pretty useless without the init file. |

Maybe there should be implemented a CAPTCHA on the user registration to get rid of the spam bots ![]() I can't remember it had any. |

Software / MaxFax (answering machine sw)
November 06, 2009, 20:07 |
I recently bought the orginal MaxFax 3.1 user manuals and 800k floppies from eBay, but they were corrupt.. The firm (Prometheus Products Inc.) seems long gone (?) and I can't find anything but some mentions about the software on the net.. Do anyone have this software? The versions I'm looking for is MaxFax 3.0 or 3.1 because I know these work on my Mac Plus, but I guess it's not limited to only those.. With MaxFax you could transform your macintosh into a voice answering machine/voicemail, and that's what I'm looking for. If anyone know of or have software that could do the same as MaxFax I would be happy as well :-) |

Wow! Nice! Is it possible that you could zip the MPW DISK IMAGES 1.0 3.1 3.2 folder? I can't grab the folders from that view so I have to manually make every one. |

Software / Older MPW Versions

The MPW version Apple have on it's ftp site (ftp://ftp.apple.com/developer/Tool_Chest/Core_Mac_OS_Tools/MPW_etc./) is for System 7.5 or later. Does anybody have a older version or have a URL to a older version that works on System 7.1? I think the earliest System 7 compatible version of MPW is version 3.2 (Apple's FTP version is MPW 3.5) |

Do you have a new MAC or a system with HFS(+) on? Try downloading it to that system and unpack it. If you dont have a floppy disc on that machine, insert a usb drive and format it to HFS. Plug that usb drive into a linux/unix machine with a floppy drive and copy it to a HFS floppy disc. If you dont have a usb drive you can also make a disc image out of it and use 'dd' in linux to export it to a floppy drive. The main essential is: Dont move a HFS binary file to a non-HFS formatted drive on the way to the mac. The binary file will NOT work if you download it to or copy it over to a FAT/NTFS/EXT file system. |

Hi EA published a series of Paint titles on the Macintosh: Studio/8 and Studio/32 (1990). I can't find more use full information about these products other than it was the Macintosh versions of Deluxe Paint (for MS DOS/Amiga). Does anybody have these Floppy Images/Software Images? Where can I find the software? |
