Hello everyone, I've recently come across an old Powerbook 165 and when I boot it up, I get the chimes, the happy mac, and then I'm prompted for a password screen. Only problem is, I don't have the password, and I have no way of contacting the original owner. Am I just out of luck on this one, or is there some way to boot the machine without the password? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

If you choose the "Clean Install" option, a new system folder will be created but the old system folder will remain. You will be able to start the 165 with the new OS and from their either salvage the material you need or move it to the new system. bill
