I really never could understand why you always seemed to have the most horrendous problems. Just a lot of bad luck I guess.

I guess so, and its rediculous that there are *NO* avenues around here to find good old macs. I suppose ebay is a place where things like partially working computers and such realm I suppose. I will stick around. I wont be gone...I am keeping my 2400c/240 and parts machines around...and the 9600 is getting a face-lift with a new motherboard and CPU from a late 9600. I still love OS 7.6.1, I believe it has a HUGE amount of leverage still even after 11+ years of use. I appreciate all of your help and guidence. I suppose I need to find a person who *HAS* working macs to sell me some in order to convert my frustration into old-world computing bliss!
