It took me 10 minutes wo whop up a QuicKeys script that scans through my stock portfolio in Quicken, extracts the stock ID and then puts an ask to LegacyAI to give me the latest quote for that. Afterwards I wasted an hour and nearly a heart attack trying to explain to that dumb stupid AI in vain, that I wasn't looking for "real time stock quotes". Just the latest info available on the net. "As a text based AI I can not provide stock quotes. Neither real time nor historical". That dumb algorithm never could justify to me, what "being text based" has to do with its refusal to provide me any stock quotes at all. I made similar experiences at work, where the company's own AI gave me advise regarding company policies and SLAs that was patently false! Elon Musk and other airheads are spending tripple digit billions(!) on AI data centers in the desert, that eat up more drinking water and hydrocarbons, than all the dinosaurs that ever walked together. If this is what we get for all that money, Lord help us when the bill comes due. |
