anybody here on there modern computers use Vivaldi? or startpage.com? i love the lack of ai in the search engine and browser makes everything more smooth on older hardware (less loading) yknow i never quite got what people meant by AI Slop because even a decade ago yet alone a century ago humans by themselves can be uncreative i.e Human Slop so i dont see a massive difference btw startpage.com loads in a little more than 30-35 seconds under supermium on a Pentium M @ 1.6ghz while google.com takes 45 seconds hence why i prefer not to browse the modern web on devices older than 15 years for the most part even a Core 2 Duo struggles a lot so i like to have a mini time capsule of sorts on those machines of software browser extensions/themes and games also i like how people are trying to bring back the early 2000s internet problem is nobody is trying to be creative and create new sites based off old ideas (i.e a gamefaqs type site or a emulation forum for older consoles on ppc macs or early intel or anything like that or a new search engine thats not based off duckduckgo)

I like Vivaldi. It reaches back a fair ways for support. I think they dropped support for El Capitan in '23, and they dropped support for High Sierra about a year age. Even though dated they work well on those systems. Overall I prefer a browser with little bloat, and Vivaldi contains everything including the kitchen sink. I have El Capitan on a 2009 C2D machine and Vivali runs well on it. I like Vivaldi's music as well.

I have used DuckDuckGo as my search engine of choice for several years and have been content with its results. There are a fair number of search engines available now and it is easier to change than it use to be. From what I gather though most search engines are either using Bing or Google as their backend.Recently DuckDuckGo added start a "Smart Summary", which I assume is some AI based feature. It does a nice job of concisely answering simple queries.
