so i recently picked up a Q6600 Core 2 Quad PC @ 2.8ghz with the nowadays rare Nvidia geforce GX2 7950 with dual gpu's on 1 card and 2GB of DDR2-667mhz memory and i found out that Terraria runs under XP tried it and i can play large detailed maps at max speed at the resolution of my 2006ish 1080p Dell widescreen display and this is a game that was last updated 2 years ago talk about backwards compatibility and great optimization! plus Undertale also works just fine on a Pentium 4 tower from 2002

speaking of great optimization I remember back in 2015 when windows 10 came out we kept on getting a pop-up on our family pc which ran windows 7 at the time to upgrade parents said that would be too risky cause of loss of files and such but it somehow did it by itself dad wasn't too happy with that but either way somehow it ran even better than 7 in fact my dad didn't want to jinx it so when build 1607 came about a coworker told him about a piece of software called Sledgehammer that could wipe out forced updates completely allowing for the user to select via PowerShell the updates they wanted installed  versus Microsoft shoving them down your throat and we had 1607 from late 2016-2020 I recently picked up a ThinkPad T470 last Christmas as a gift for myself as I liked the ability to service it and the expandable DDR4-2666mhz memory plus room for both NVME and MSATA however the latest version of windows 10 ran poorly so I used the power of AI and forum posts to track down when it was first released to the public it turns out that was in February 2017 which I was delighted to hear as that gave me a excuse to use 1607 again and I really do enjoy using it 22H2 made my ThinkPad sound like a jet and it was pretty slow on places like Macromeres and now it fly's
