It's always fun to spot classic machines!

I was just watching "The Matrix Resurrections" and at one point in Neo's apartment there is a pile of retro hardware on his desk...but, this being Hollywood, things were all mixed up, of course.  A 5.25 in Apple 2 floppy drive is prominently shown, but keyboards, mice and monitors from unrelated machines, a total jumble, etc etc etc.

It's funny how I'm STILL learning about classic Mac hardware even today...I hadn't heard of the 7300 before.  From looking at shots of the motherboard, it looks like it is a 7500/7600 but missing the video in chips...just like the 7500/7600 is the same as the 8500, but missing the video out chips...

So a MUCH better machine than the 7200, with its soldered 601, and unusual video/memory controllers (not otherwise used much in other machines).  Unfortunately the University department I worked for at the time bought a TON of them and they were way more crashy than they should've been!  A pain to support...

There's a lot of Mac in anime, by the way. There's one anime in particular which I always remember as "the G5 anime" and never by its actual name. Story-wise, graphic designers and game devs have an office/studio with them set up everywhere, and I notice it's precisely the G5 towers, and not later Intel crap that is modelled in it (single slot disc drives).

Then there's "Buttobi CPU", localized as "I Dream of Mimi". For those familiar, it's basically "Ah! My Goddess" with "humanoid" Macs (or "Nacs" as they're called in it), PC-98s and so on, but with various NSFW elements as well, so keep that in mind. It's pretty funny at how they use creativity, and Macs, in it, though!

Various '90s anime will have moments of iMacs in the background, or Mac OS 9 platinum interface. Some pretty awesome stuff out there. Perhaps I should have kept a list.

There's also NeXT stuff in "Serial Experiments Lain" if I recall correctly, but last time I watched that was some 22 years ago.

There were also Macs everywhere in 90's U.S. Sitcoms ... in Home Improvement, the family has what looks like a LC. Jill (the mom) is often seen working on it. Later on, PowerBooks come and go, both Jill and the boys using it.

In Frasier there's a compact Mac in the background of his bedroom (?) although never shown in use if I recall correctly; and Seinfeld is a Macintosh user too. I'm sure you can find them in next to all 90's Sitcoms :)

Oh noes! Who will protect the Japanese PC market from those evil, dark Performas erupting off the ground?!

I thought there was already a topic about this, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, I turned on my TV today and Baywatch Remastered was on. During a shot in an office, there was a Macintosh LC III or similar looking Performa on a desk. The specific episode was Sweet Dreams.

The only other movie I can think of off the top of my head that a Mac was in was Blank Check.

What other TV shows and movies have you seen Macs in?
