I just found out about this site! Glad to see people are trying to make System 7 usable in this day and age! My favorite version of System 7? Either KanjiTalk 7.5.3, (A Japanese localized version of 7.5.3), or 7.6!

And a welcome on board from me! Nice to have you here, Gabe.

Want to tell us a bit more about your System 7 past and what setup you're using at the moment? (if any)

I use this site called Infinite Macintosh https://infinitemac.org/ (go here on a modern browser)
It allows me to emulate pretty much any version of System 7!

What is your experience on that site? I have a fairly fast computer and stick with installed emulators. I have a somewhat slow internet connection and did not explore the site's offerings thinking that the emulation over the network would be horrible.

Do you have good luck? What OS/Browser do you access the site with?

I did give the site a try and you were right, it works pretty well. My Mac adventure really started with System 6, so I am not very familiar with what came before. It will be interesting to spend a bit of time there looking through the older systems and trace the Mac OS back to the beginning.

Welcome to our Classic Mac System 7 forum, Gabe!

I love using the Infinite Mac emulators as well and I also use a feature it has that allows you to save items between sessions so the online emulated Mac can have software and/or files already loaded ;)

The only thing is my favorite card game can keep a running tally of my successful games and it gets reset because preferences are not saved between sessions, but it's a tiny quip to what it can do, especially on my older Chromebooks that can't install any regular applications! :)

On my newer newer Chromebook I am not able to run Mac OS 9, so it's nice to have a way to run newer programs even though it's not really as fast as I would like it to be.. it feels as slow as a first-gen PPC Mac :P

What do you like running on your online Classic Mac?
