Christmas is not far and I wonder what hardware developments for System 7 you'd wish for? I already stated my wish for a Mac OS FPGA here so I kinda used up my wish already. Well I'm going to cheat a bit by mentioning another one - a simple plug&play (as in, works with the on-board drivers in System 7) external ethernet card for the SCSI port. As I'd really love to get my SE online just for the kicks of it. But it would be cool if it could be just plugged in and out and taken to another machine if required. What would you be your personal wish? |

Hmm, the ideal computer would be a fine thing. But I'm not greedy. It would have a plethora of ports: SATA, PATA, SCSI, Firewire, USB, ADB, VGA, DB-15, ethernet, serial, Audio & video in & out. A couple of storage drives, an optical, and a a G4-type processor speed would suffice. It's footprint would match my monitor, or it could be used in any orientation. It would be quiet but give just enough feedback to let you know what it was doing. Oh, and a non-volatile PRAM. And it could indeed run System 7.

Just to remake the old accelerators and accessories as they’re now as rare as rocking horse poo
