Alright, let's narrow down the troublemaker. Have POP access activated in Gmail, please.

1.) Download Musashi 3.5 from the Mac Garden. Nevermind it's 68k code, I'll upload the PPC ones in a while. (btw - Musashi will be our new S7T recommended POP e-mail client. Been testing it for weeks and it just works with the SSL tunnel)

2.) Start Musashi. Decline or Accept multiple users. Then go to preferences -> accounts.

3.) Create a new inbox. Here's a screenshot from my 8600. I've blacked out the e-mail adre ss info, just put yours in instead. On he pop account it needs to say your email(at)gmail.com(at)mail.macintoshgarden.org:110

If it works we know it must have been something with your 9600's setup. If this fails, we know it should be related to your Google account...

Looks like Google has blocked my email from being accessed anywhere except on the app or on their site. I've reset everything that I knew possible, but maybe there's a reset setting somewhere that I'm not catching.–

Ok, FINALLY, it works again. Don't ask me what I did. It was a round of signing out of all of my accounts, resetting everything, enabling 2-step verification and disabling, etc.

Thanks for all the help :)

If someone else ever has trouble with their gmail account:

1) Enable imap/pop
2) Enable Less Secure Apps
3) Be absolutely certain to click "it was me" on the security emails (or while doing a security checkup)
4) Reset the Google captcha
5) (IMPORTANT!) Sign out of every gmail account you have on all devices
6) Check email on your 68k/PPC Mac and it should work

I'm thinking that simply signing out of all of my accounts made it work for some reason. I'm now signed back into all of my Google accounts on my phone and email is still working.ï

You're welcome! Great to hear it's working again - and thanks for sharing the steps that might help others running into the same problem. Syntho karma points +1 ;-)?

I'm able to download my messages but it won't let me send email. It says the server is busy, or something.

I just sent an e-mail through my gmail account literally a minute ago. Try again. If not, it's likely Google is messing with your account again.

I can receive emails fine but sending still won't work. I'm using the Netscape email though. I tried resetting everything like I posted above but every time I try to send it just says it's connecting to mail.macintoshgarden.org and won't move past there.¿

This is what it tells me after letting it sit like 3 minutes after clicking Send:

Can you try another client (just try) to make sure it is not Netscape eMailer related? I use Musashi on System 7 and it works for me.

Musashi is asking me for a password and I think it's the password for the system itself. I didn't believe I set up one on here.

stunnel can be used to enable TLS and SSL encrypted connections for older mail clients. You just need a more recent PC as a go-between:
