Hello all. DOes anyone know of a decent place to get SCSI HDDs for my 8500? Although it works just fine and both hard drives are running normally, I would like another one "just in case". THANKS! John |

I might have a 50 pin HD that you could have for a cheap price. What size are you looking for?

That's what I truly enjoy about the folks that come to this website. EVERY time I've ever needed help with my beloved 8500, I ALWAYS get what I'm looking for. As far as capacity, it has a small 4GB right now...and I have no problem with running out of room. Either 2GB or 4GB would be GREAT! I appreciate the help! I recently brought my 8500 to work...our network is pretty poor, and we've had numerous issues with viruses destroying company PCs with WinXP. (I am a Windows 7 user normally). I have the luxury of using ANY computer I choose, since I am the Lead Technician. So...I vrought in my 8500...and with a little tweaking here and there, I can see the network, the printers, and my Excel spreadsheets that I created with Office 2003 and 2007 work flawlessly with Office 98 for Mac. Thanks again for the help! John

It turns out I have a 2 GB 50 pin Seagate ST12400N (5400 RPM) that you could have for $10 shipped USPS domestic flat rate. Also have a 4 GB Seagate that has to, as I recall, be in the middle of the SCSI chain or it doesn't work and another 4 GB, unknown brand, that currently is in the 9600 that I could pull. Either one for $12 shipped. Your choice, PayPal please.

If anyone's still in the market for SCSI HDDs, I've found this site a while ago... they have a whole pile of SCSI hard drives for sale, a bunch of them even Apple branded: http://www.weirdstuff.com/cgi-bin/category/10017 But I haven't bought any from them yet... $50 is a bit more than I want to pay. If you get any from them, please let me know how it goes.
