Are there any problems with system 7 compatibility when using processor upgrade cards on PowerMacs, especially 8600? I'm not familiar with the particular model but I was offered one 8600/300 for a reasonable price. The seller has also one 8600 upgraded with a Sonnet G3 375 Mhz card, and he offered me both of them with a nice discount.

I don't need both of them since my flat is already filled with various 68K and PPC Macs. But I'd really like to get one of the fastest pre-G3 systems for using system 7. So, is it 604ev or G3? I happen to have one original system disk for a 8600, I wonder if it works on a G3-upgraded machine?

Yes, all Sonnet and Newer Technologies G3 upgrades are 100% compatible with Mac OS 7.6.1.  Be sure to install Sonnet's latest drivers (from their web site) as well as all of the updates recommended at the main site for the best results.

The 8600 will still be fast without the G3 as well.
