I have the file sharing with os 10 and system 7 working just as described in the help center. however in the last step when you get the  list of drives and a check box when you try to check the box you get the message

"startup mounting is not currently supported for this log on method"

is this normal?

That's because thats not what the check boxes are for.  Those tell your computer to try and mount those drives every time it starts up, which is not supported with Encrypted Password (you can choose less secure Apple Standard VAMs instead and this feature will then work).

To select multiple drives, hold down shift and click on their names.

ok thanks Dan I want the drives to mount on startup thanks.  I just did not know this level of detail with networking.  I would have guessed the shift key that an old system 7 thing.
