Hi everyone. Does anyone know if or how you can play Populous 2 with two people via AppleTalk? I can't seem to get the two-player mode to work. I found the Connect dialog in resedit... |

Any chance this thing was partically implemented but never made it to the final version? I think I've come across stuff like this before, where ResEdit reveals features that were never programmed in. Do you happen to have the original packaging? What does it say? If not, I know a forum member who has and could be asked (because he bought it from me years ago :-)

Actually, I've got good news for you! I've asked @AlexMac whether he could look into the manual and he confirms, the two player mode is onboard (yet only via Local Talk). It says on the GAME OPTIONS screen choose "TWO PLAYER GAME". CUSTOM GAME has to be chosen. You need to make sure via the good/evil button that one of the players either good or evil, then both players should choose "CONNECT ME".

Just tried it out and couldn't get it to work with the first try. The naming of the dialogue options is a bit different than stated in the manual and when I select the multi player options, just nothing happens. Will try with the original disks again and keep you posted.

Got it working now. Two Quadra 700s connected to my Ethernet LAN could see each other and could connect. Should be working then  Happy playing god!

In Game Options are: -You are good/bad -computer vs computer/human -Computer assist on/off And Restart map Quit map Paint map Full screen (Started a custom game)
