I found one of these today. Modern browser needed. But it didn't have the manual or power supply. I was unable to find the manual online. Does anyone have one of these and would be willing to scan the manual to upload please? |

Here are a couple links that might prove of some help. <https://ia601809.us.archive.org/32/items/modem-installation-guide/Modem%20Installation%20Guide.pdf> <https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/modems-telephone-ISDN/P-R/PRACTICAL-PERIPHERALS-INC-Modem-asynchronous-PM144-103.html#google_vignette> I imagine the links need a modern browser.

Thanks wove. I also found the second link that you provided. I don't actually plan on using this modem, but it was more out of curiosity that I was looking for the manual and compatible power supply.

Haha, thanks @Bolkonskij I actually found a SupraFax 28.8 Modem (always wanted one back then) and connected it to an old Telekom Speedport 701V. Connecting my PowerBook G4 Titanium's modem to the other port of the Speedport and now they can call each other. Tested Zterm and FirstClass as well as sending Faxes with FaxSTF. Pretty useless but pure authentic retro feeling

I’d also found and cleaned up that web link a bit and threw it into a PDF (modern url) for you, ShinobiKenobi

Luckily, most modems ended up being "hayes compatable" and understand the standard "at" commands, so you probably won't end up even needing a manual mostly, although I understand it'd be nice to have.

@Bolkonskij well I don't have a phone line connection. Also, I don't know what the polarity or volts amps requirements are for it. I can't even see what the values are on pictures of them on eBay. I may have a power supply that might work, but I'm afraid of plugging in the wrong one. @cballero thanks, I downloaded it. It looks great, thank you! @alexMac that sounds fun indeed 😁 @lauland thanks, that info is very helpful!

From modern link it looks like 9v av 1000ma. Don't know if that's the original they came with, but, one would hope, they wouldn't sell it with one that didn't work!

@lauland That's better than any other picture I found, thanks! That is exactly the information I was looking for, and to discover that its output is also AC.
