I recently watched a video yesterday on MacRumors.com, about "10 Mac Tips to Make Your Life Easier": https://www.macrumors.com/2023/02/14/10-macos-tips-make-life-easier/

One of the tips was about checking the Stationery Pad checkbox in a file's Get Info panel. This makes the file into a template - ie, when you open the file, it will copy it first, then open it.

"That's great," I thought. Those clever guys at Cupertino have just solved another problem for us. Another time-saving improvement!

And then today, I'm wrangling with my System 7 emulator setup, and I get info on a file. And the Stationery Pad checkbox is there! It was there all the time. I've been using a Mac for about 30 years - System 7 / Quark Express 3.3 etc... and I never knew it was there.

haha, yes...there's plenty of such things to discover with Mac OS. I've been using Mac OS for 30+ years by now and I still discover keyboard shortcuts and stuff like that on a regular basis. Very often amazed at how much genius went into the functionality - and how little into its marketing :-)

I'm really thinking of a good way on how to preserve these little tips on System 7 Today. That includes application tips too. Thus far I've put some into our Tutorials section but I feel it'll outgrow its bounds quickly if we continue to collect each and every tip there. Any ideas welcome ...

Just to give a nudge to blasphemy: A collection of tips on 8.1 would also be greatly appreciated.

I just found out how ez it is to add modern day SSL to 8.1 - but you gotto get the tip4that, because its not very intuitive.

Also, MacOS 8.1 on Basilisk-II can act as host of its own, with TCP/IP reverse tunneling activated. And so on and so on.
