So, here another one that'll make it to the System 7 Today honor roll (aka applications section) soon: DragAnyWindow.

It was written in 1993 by Alessandro Levi Montalcini (of USB Overdrive fame). It's a control panel that allows you to do one thing - to easily move any kind of window, including dialogs, alerts, standard "Open" and "Save" dialogs, game windows and other non-movable windows.

It also lets you bring back to the desktop any window that has gone out of sight.

Now if you had been on anything below a 640x480 resolution (like a compact Mac or a 12" Apple monitor) you *know* how painful those out-of-bounds windows can be.

I've been giving it a try on my IIci and it's been working fine. If you want to try it, it's on the System 7 Today server for now.

Unfortunately it proved to cause instabillites on my B-II MacOS 8.1 installation.

Oh, really? What kind of? Just regular crashes when trying to drag a window?

It runs alright here on 7.1. You *may* want to try a later version though, there are later ones on the Garden that may work better with Mac OS 8.1.

It was the transparency mode that caused trouble and w/o it there was no point for me in using it.
