Did anyone have the installer disk of this upgrade card ?

I just buoght 1 in local old shop but no disk with that.  And I tried google and only know the backside ratio should be 2:1 at 137MHz.
But no place to download the driver & Installer instruction stuff.

Not sure if this card can just plug in my 8500/120 to upgrade to become 275MHz ?

Pls advise, thanks.

I looked around on google, and I couldn't find anything about it requiring a driver. It did say that the card is compatible with your computer, so I think you could try it and it shuld hopefully work.

Until you find the drivers you can use the Gauge PRO utility to see if it's running at the correct speed and that cache is the correct size:

If all looks good, then it may in fact be simply plug and play.  If the speed is wrong or the cache is non-existent, then you probably need to continue searching for drivers.

Don't rely on Apple System Profiler for this information.

Thanks very much of the info.   I will try to plug in the 8500 by the weekend and see.  It seems more complicated to install the card than 9600.

So, need to download some 8500 manual to see how to plug more Ram too.

Hope this upgrade card is compatible with Speed Doubler not like Newer Technology G3.

Will update you guys later.  Thanks :)

You should find the 9600 to be much easier to work inside than an 8500.

Click and drag on this QuickTime VR video to see how the 9600 case opens:

The 8500, shares its case with the 8200 and 8100, Quadra 840av and 800, all of which are a real pain in the arse to open up.  The 8600/9600/G3 MT are comparative dreams to work inside.
