Hardware / 6100AV - software for video inputs
March 20, 2010, 00:44 |
Thanks for the links - I've already downloaded that software in preparation. So.... I know that the speed of this machine is limited and so capturing video at full resolution is difficult. However, I am really only interested in using the AV inputs as an ability to watch TV from my cable box through the PowerMac. Will the 6100/60AV along with this software (i.e. Apple Video Player) allow me to simply display the video fullscreen that is being input through the S-video input, in real time and with no dropped frames? Also, will I use the Mic input on the 6100/60AV, as the AV card has no audio inputs? Thanks again for your help! |

Hardware / 6100AV - software for video inputs
March 17, 2010, 07:54 |
I have a PowerMac 6100/60AV on the way (40MB RAM, 250MB HD). I've never used this model before, but I know that it has AV inputs. It supposedly is coming with "OS 7.5", and I also have a OS 7.6.1 install CD on the way. Do these versions of the MacOS come with software that will allow me to view the AV inputs and display on the screen? I've got a cable box that has RCA outputs, and what I'd like to be able to do is use the 6100AV's monitor essentially as a "TV" and view the output of the cable box onscreen (preferably full screen). Does the software to do this come bundles with MacOS 7.6.1, or an earlier version? Thanks for your help! |
