Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness takes the continuing saga of Azeroth to the next level as the battle rages on over land, sea, and air. Weekend Warrior
|
1 to 6 players. |
AppleTalk. |
PowerMac Only.
CD-ROM only. |
Weekend Warrior puts a uniquely entertaining spin on the fully 3D action game. Sort of a bizarre hybrid of "Smash TV" and "American Gladiators", Weekend Warrior is a gameshow where you assume the identity of an ordinary, everyday character and enter a challenging 3D arena. Cash and prizes can be yours by escaping traps, completing missions and pummeling other contestants into submission.
Each of the character has their own strengths and weaknesses and carries an appropriate weapon; the Butcher has his mighty Pork Shoulder, the Punk Rocker wields a Guitar and the Cowboy, a Hobby Horse. A smartaleck host and his goofy sidekick provide a humorous running commentary on the action.
Eight multi-room, multi-elevation arenas are packed with traps, puzzles, hostile contestants and prizes. Including the Old West Town, Space Station, Haunted House and Topiary Maze, some arenas have time limits, some have missions and others simply have to be survived.
TECHNOLOGY FEATURES:
- Lifelike physics model
- Completely free camera control: 1st person, overhead, over the shoulder, etc.
- The whole range of true 3D effects: texturemapping, specular shading, alpha transparencies, mipmapping, gouraud shading.
- Networkable for up to six players
- Soundtracks appropriate for each arena
System Requirements: The system requirements are stiff. According to Bungie, Weekend Warrior requires a PowerMac with a Quickdraw 3D accelerator card, or a Mac with at least a 180mHz PowerPC. Otherwise, you needn't bother downloading this game.

World of Avalia 0.4.0
|
1 to 100's players.
(Up to 4 players on a local network) |
Appletalk, TCP/IP |
68040 or PowerPC |
The World of Avalia game system is a quantum leap in computer RPG design and implimentation. It is a dynamic system that incorporates the best of traditional pen and paper role-playing games, the rich flavor of live-action, and other interactive role-playing forms with the interactivity and ease of play of a computerized world and resolution system.
Locnar Inc. has developed this system with the inspiration and original design work of Michael Marzilli and Denise Ruiz. Velsaga, our first effort but will undoubtably not be our last. We have already planned to release ModulePacks for the system quarterly to keep gameplay fresh and exciting.
How Avalia is different from the Rest:
- Completely customizable: You design your character, from the base stats and skills to how he/she looks. You are able to import your own graphic icons into the game. Those icons are transferred to the game server and distributed to all the other players.
- Game play for everybody: Whether you're a Hack&Slash adventurer, a Role Playing storyteller or a money grubbing merchant, Avalia fills the need for you. With a wide diversity of skills and abilities, and places to put them to use, any character can make a name for himself. Tired of having to kill monsters and players to succeed, will use your weaponsmithing skill to create weapons and sell them to other characters. Have a story or poem to tell? Sit by the tavern fire and spin tales of adventure and intrigue, and watch as you become a storyteller of great reknown.
- Never-ending Modules:Games Online will be publishing both Local and Internet modules quarterly, so the action never dies down.
- An Inovative Combat System: Combat can be as simple or complex as you like. Your skills define the scope of your actions, you decide which skills to use and at which times.
- An Original Spell System: Learn the words of power from the tomes of ancient masters. String these words together to create specific spell effects. There is no predefined Lightning Bolt spell; you control the range, the area of effect, the damage, the duration and any other affects that your character has learned.
Game Interface:
- Graphic Interface allowing for custom character creation, and constant game monitoring.
- Use the client to create your own personal icon "look" Allows viewing of selected players, in portrait and icon styles.
- Bar Graph status indicators for easy tracking of all statistics.
- Overhead style map of towns and woodlands, including taverns, homes and shops as part of gameplay, complete with road signs for easy navigation in town.
- Fully featured chat interface

Worms
|
1 to 4 players. |
MacIPX. |
68040 or PowerMac. |
Worms is a strategy game with a difference... it appeals to the dark side of human nature. Basically you control your four worms and are at war with up to 3 other teams. You must try and use the weapons at your disposal in the best possible way - or at least to the most devastating effect.
Lots of people will emerge with countless different strategies, but the basic strategy is that you must protect your worms whilst causing as much pain to the other team(s) as possible.
Worms also differs in that it doesn`t take long before people start feeling very close to their little pink chums - you start to feel for them as they are blown away and you very soon start to exact revenge on rival teams at any attempt to kill your beloved team.
Worms is a game that you simply must play - the games world has been party to many visually stunning, yet unsatisfying genres over the last 2 or 3 years. Here is a game that reeks of gameplay - we hope that you`ll spend a little time getting to know it.
