We've gone through an extensive test here on System 7 Today to see which e-mail client is the best for use today. For a little while we deemed Mulberry to be the best - until we discovered a rather little known e-mail client from Japan, Musashi.
Musashi comes in 68k and PowerPC versions, offers a sleek interface, supports POP3/SMTP and best of all, it just works out-of-the-box with the e-mail SSL-tunnel for older Macs.
Other features include multi-user support, multiple signatures per user and filtering. Still it remains a small application and the 68k version runs smoothly on older 68k System 7 machines like the Macintosh LC III or SE/30.
If only it had IMAP support, we'd have our one-for-all winner. If you need IMAP on System 7, we still recommend Mail Drop.
