Problem:

The open dialog in Mac OS applications shows a Move&Rename folder that is otherwise invisible to me. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

First off, don't despair - it is harmless. Like the semi-invisible Desktop File or the Trash folder it is just a folder that Mac OS 7 uses.

That answer doesn't satisfy you yet? Well, Move&Rename is particularly used by Mac OS during file sharing when the OS uses it to - gasp - move and rename items. While you can delete it, it will come back the next time you turn file sharing on. So it is best just to leave it alone, it's usually invisible anyway.

There goes another Mac OS mystery ...
