Released to much fanfare in 1987, HyperCard has evolved over the years and became the "programming tool for the little man". Featuring an easy-to-grasp script language (HyperTalk) and a card based approach, every Mac OS owner can create small nifty HyperCard applications of its own. Over the years, it has become a start into programming for many Mac users.
A gazillion of add-ons further enhanced the possibilities with HyperCard and in fact, many commercial Macintosh applications started out as HyperCard projects or use it as their engine. The popular adventure game Myst being a prominent example.
System 7 Today recommends using the latest HyperCard version 2.4.1 on your 68k or PowerPC Macintosh.
