http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/libmoto.html According to this, it is just a worthless extension that has no real performance improvement and the 60% better FPU is artificaly improved. Sounds like the old Rage Pro Turbo for windows where the driver was just re-written to improve benchmark scores without any real performance boost |

I don't really think that page of user complaints (not an article) is really that revolutionary. LibMoto only speeds up six or so C/C++ math functions. It's not nearly as important as SpeedDoubler 8. Also, Motorola's LibMoto Read Me clearly says not to use it with Mac OS 8.5 or higher. This probably explains some of those user complaints. As for the rest, I've never experienced any problems stemming from LibMoto. It takes up almost no hard drive space, almost no memory, and could potentially be very useful in anything that calls those math functions. I would imagine programs like Mathematica would have the greatest benefit. But since it's so small, why not keep it around just to cover your ground?

I tried LibMoto on my Power Mac 6500, but it made the system so unstable that I couldn't use it. Not sure why, but I'm doing fine without it.

I have several 6400/6500s and lots of other things running just fine with LibMoto. You must be having an extension conflict with something else. Something third party.
