My performa 6400/200 has a PCI ethernet card (Realtek 8139 - 10/100M) using  OS 7.6.1 with driver download from S7T.   The speed to browse internet using 10M, I think as it has the same speed of PPC9600/200 AAUI ethernet 10M browsing.  I can see this is different speed from G3 10/100M speed.  The G3 speed is much faster, not sure if this is 10 times faster as 100M.  Just wonder if anyone has experienced 10/100M ethernet card using 100M speed in pre-G3 PPC ?  Or this is limited by the circuit board design that only up to 10M in pre-G3 PPC ?

Thanks.

I have yet to use a 100 card with System 7 though I plan to.  The problem is that it's not as simple of a matter as comparing card speeds, there are other bottlenecks and stuff in between.  For example, your G3 itself is much faster than your Performa.

My PPC G3/400 (blue&white) using OS10.3.9 (with standard ATI 128 Rage).  I don't have upgrade card on Performa so can not compare if a G3 upgrade on Performa 6400/200 will be getting closer speed as G3/400.  But my feeling tells me the G3/400 looks much faster internet browsing even both machines share the same router.
