I was looking around on some os 9 software because I have found that some apps that will work back to os 7.5.5. one was an mp3 player.  The extraction software is only good for 30 min of conversions.  Does anyone have info on this app?  It will run without the appearance manager but it gives a warning.  I have had no problems with it yet.  If you enter a serial number the software becomes the full version.

I believe he's referring to this:  http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macos/3064

I'll have to try that out on one of my systems when I have time.  You say it doesn't need Appearance?  What is the error you get?

it gives a dialog box that says that mpv needs appearance manager "the devil" and asks if you want to proceed at your own risk which i click the yes button.

I rebooted under os 8.1 and I did not get the warning. I could not tell that anything changed.   the software ran  about the same under 7.6.1 and 8.1.  May be we could delete the dialog box with res edit.

Such dialog boxes are good things. Nine months from now when random guy downloads the application and installs it under Mac OS 7.6.1 and gets no such dialog box but does get strange behavior that none of us encountered because luck is a strange mistress, that person will have no idea why.

Unless we leave the application alone that is.

It's not downloadable from the Versiontracker (It's there, but download doesn't work) nor can I find it from the companys site. How/where I could download the player?

Hi madmann, could you email the MVP 1.2.37 to me, please? It seems to be the only way to encode mp3s in 7.6.1. I like SoundJam, but haven't had any luck trying to get the upgrade for it.

You only get 30 min of encoding time with sound jam mp.   Can you reinstall it and get another 30 min? this would be a Dan question

At the moment I encode mp3s with audion3 in 9.1, works fine.

But I do want to do the same in 7.6.1. Reinstall after reinstall of SoundJam for encoding isn't my idea of fun, so I haven't even tested if it works like that.

Does anyone know a professional  post production application that could do mp3s? I'm sure that would be easier to find from Ebay, than a full version of SoundJam.
