What is the last version of Photoshop to support the 68040? What is the last version to support 601 upgrades? And finally, the last version to run under 7.6.1. The answers to these three questions could be different, I would like to know the answers to all three specifically, not be given a blanket answer that covers all three with one version unless the answer to all three happens to be the same, thanks. |

The last for 7.6.1 (and also the 601 upgrades running 7.6.1) would be 5.5 as indicated here: http://main.system7today.com/software/photoshop/photoshop.html I don't know about 68k but I imagine version 4 something.

Thanks. My brother gave me a copy of 5.0 LE and I wondered how far I could upgrade without getting into Mac OS 8.

Well, I can now say that 5.0LE requires at least a PPC processor to run, so 4 probably is the last one to support a 68040 machine. I hope that helps someone who needs to know.

I installed photoshop 4.0 and it has options to install : 1> only 68K version or 2> PPC version or 3> both 68K & PPC. Not sure if there is any further version of 4.x ?
