Hello there, It's been a while since I've run 7.x on a steady basis, but my current project duo (always wanted a 280c with a 2300 board) needed some help in tracking down all the updates I've missed over the years, or forgot. I cannot thank you enough for the tips about upgrading appleshare client to support IP- now i can properly connect to my Mini with a tb of storage (mostly filled with installcds, etc), and actually be productive again. It's glad to see that the 2300c is popular around here. Mine was actually downgraded to the 280c screen and plastics, but I'm currently fighting the urge to put the original 2300 screen back on as it's a tad brighter, but the lower resolution and off-center screen bugs me. Currently use the system with an ultradock sce, but hope to internalize a micro en/sc as others have done, as well as switch to flash memory in place of the loud and slow drive. |

Hello and welcome. What do you mean lower resolution? The 2300c's screen is the same resolution as the 280c, only the screen is like an inch bigger.

I've only recently heard of this. Where do I get the flash drive? I've googled around to no avail, other than the new (and very expensive) 30+ GB SATA models. I have a stack of old 4 MB cards for the PC-card slot, but my Duo 230 doesn't have such a slot, and 4 MB might work for System 6.0.8, but not for System 7.6.1. I remember c. 1999 reading about SCSI 3.5" optical storage hard drives about 4 GB, but they were several hundred dollars at the time. Is this something similar?

System 6 won't run on your Duo.
