Just wanted to point out the "... works on your old Mac" in our logo actually means that - Netscape 3.x is fully supported on the forum as far as I can tell. In fact, I am posting from my IIci, System 7.1 and Netscape 3.04 right now. You don't need a new computer to post on System 7 Today. So why don't you boot up your trusty ol' Macintosh and share your adventures with us? Be it real or emulated :-) |

Well, from time to time I do browse S7T on my legacy system. But for example right now I'm testing my new backup scripts on MacOS. And we all know that our vintage machines were never meat to run big things in parallel.

It seems to work well with Navigator 2.02 as well! On the SE/30 I can browse from Netscape 2 but not 3 (the colors all show up as black).

aha! Thanks for reporting back! Yes, the images/colors look awful on a SE/30 and its b&w display. A couple of colors used are not websafe colors either, so that's something for the to do to fix (to make it look better on 256 colors)

Similar experience here with Navigator Gold 3.03 on System 7.5. Only gripe I have with it is that it does not wrap text in the 'post reply' field/box, so sometimes posting (especially URLs) turns into a horizontal scrolling excercise. A minor inconvenience, I might add, and I have found not a single aspect of S7T which does not work on Navigator 3.03. Hats off to whomever pulled this off.
