I have a M8536 23 inch Apple Cinema Display (modern browser needed), and the problem is that the box takes up so much room. I'd hate to throw it away/recycle it. Do you guys think it would be worth my time trying to sell the empty box? The shipping would probably be expensive because of its size. I've been struggling about what to do with it for years, but I decided I simply need to free up the space. What do you guys think? |

You mean the carton it came in? I don't understand "empty box" - who would pay for that?

I didn't know if they were collectors items or not.

Because I enjoy having things in original box, I tend to keep them around and they are valuable for me. Unfortunately, I think nobody is paying you enough to make it worthwhile to sell / shipping if pricing is anything like here. Now, if you had the corresponding Cinema Display to add to the deal, even if broken ... :-)

I like the original boxes too, but I wouldn't go out of my to get one. I keep irregularly used items in their boxes. And other boxes get kept in the loft. Useful for when moving home or selling stuff. Flaw in my argument is that neither are likely... I

You might get lucky and have someone pick it up locally. Folks sell their stuff garage-sale style online all the time (I sold a used toaster on eBay, pickup-only as a test, and it sold!) Boxes are no different. Folks would rather drive nearby than throw their money away to couriers, so I’d suggest you could try that route. I don’t know if Craigslist is still a viable place to offer stuff, but it’s an old school free alternative for posting stuff. Again, if you want to avoid shipping costs, there are definitely ways to do that! Good luck!

I see empty original boxes for Macs and other Apple items on eBay quite often. I'm not sure how many of them sell, but folks do try.
