Anybody here remember the days of Leather bound shiny laptop's?
found this interesting review for a lambourghini style laptop from 2008 from what i understand even the GPU is removable unlike the pismo and earlier

Maybe I am just too old. I think a 2008 C2D laptop will still run must modern Linux distros. I guess I do not really see a 2008 computer as being quite old enough to be vintage. I do recall laptops coming with a leather skin, but never caught my fancy. The Macbook Air was already out and in 2009 Mac unibodies came out, which I think really killed off that. But then was the time of Windows  Vista and the real rise of the skeuomorphism design language on Mac. So perhaps it was more period appropriate than seems in retrospect. But that still does not make it a good design. :(

 a core 2 duo cant even run a video on any media site at 480p any longer and facebook under linux mint on a ssd on a 2.1ghz c2d with 4gb of ram freezes after 2 minutes of use and websites take forever to load compared to a thinkpad t470 which is from 2017 and can load things instantly under Windows 10 v1607
