anybody here ever used a Panasonic Toughbook before i recently picked up a cf-29 mark iv model from 2006 runs xp sp2 quite well has a Pentium M at 1.6ghz and GMA 915 graphics it has dual battery's that are the original's from what i can tell and i get about 8 hours of charge

That's awesome that it still holds a good charge. I never had one, but I always thought they were cool because of how durable they supposedly are.

A Toughbook is seen as a prop in the movie "Tears of the Sun" where a navy squad on a rescue mission use one in various scenes to stay in touch with their transport. It is common to see them as part of the gear used by utility and telecom workers in the field. My telecom furnished router died several months ago and the tech that came to replace it was carrying an old Toughbook and used it to configure the replacement router. When he finished he tossed the Toughbook along with his tool belt into the toolbox on the back of the pickup, so he had no worries about the Toughbook bouncing around in a tool box along with the other tools.

A computer you can toss without worrying about breaking it is a winner everyday of the week in my opinion :D
