You have no idea how much joy I get reading each and every post from all my Mac pals here on S7T, sometimes to a higher degree than even the MG, if only because the MG is so much about the conservation of Mac software, which certainly is for most of us here a huge treasure! ![]() I've been trying, for years now, to bring over a few more MG friends over to S7T, but I suppose the niche that we are keeps our numbers just a tiny bit lower than some of the other web forum hangouts, but that's why, especially here and the MG both, will continue to be the "Cheers" equivalent, for me at least, compared to other amazing Mac fan forums! ![]() I kick myself for not posting more on how much the camaraderie means to me, and just how much I learn from each and every one of you, so much so, it encourages me to strive to do more in the space, even when technologically speaking, so many of you run circles around my lack of Mac tech muscle! I can't begin to tabulate just how many times you've all pulled me through difficult Mac issues and every so often, I am able to do the same for some of you; for that alone, thank you all, truly! Anyway, I just thought I'd write some gushy stuff, today out of all days; I know that for me it's the equivalent of a virtual hug, lol! I really, honestly appreciate you guys more than you all know! I noticed this hasn't gotten any answer and I don't want to give it a wrong impression. Very much appreciate your words!! I'm very happy with what System 7 Today has turned into since its hibernation. I don't mind us being a small community and not getting two dozen new posts a day. In a way, it adds to its appeal, doesn't it? It's just that "friendly little bar where everybody knows your name", to use your Cheers reference :-) We still welcome everybody (sign up and post if you read this! ) but I very much want S7T to keep it's unique character. Apart from being that friendly little place, @Knezzen and I always hoped it'd be a niche for the people actively using their System 7 machines for productivity, for relaxation and writing software for it. Not just talk about it, but *actively* use and experience it. Or in other words - to keep the experience of the days when computing was exciting & fun alive :-)With that said, I much appreciate the contributions by all of you and hope you feel it's a worthwhile place to keep on the net.

Exactly, like when I see Lauland and Jatoba go to town on all the programming stuff they're shouldering, they become colossal giants of old paving a way for a new Classic Mac tomorrow.. unexploited avenues where the Classic Mac OS can continue to take new wings; then there's so many perspectives and contributions made anytime someone asks about something, where I find myself running back whenever I can do so to simply peruse the morning forum "mail", so to speak.. the fact that each of us can make it our own and allow our creative sides to at least wonder about what could be done, you know? It's das Beste! ![]() And then, every so often I find some old nugget I used to use and post it over at the MG, the synergy between the two forum sites, funny enough, one feels like a direct extension of the other! Which is why when the creators just "stop on by", or in Knez's case, actually reside, it feels so cool that we get to hang out with those who really know what they're doing (even if Lauland and JT claim otherwise ![]() Everyone knows (or should know? lol) by now how much we collectively value each other, even if the inputs happen to be very "niche"; like me and my old pal 68k putting OS 8 through it's virtualiszed paces; and even though I do have a few real Macs I can do that with, but the virtual angle gives it a little more of a challenge compared to running it bare metal.. well, truth be told, my attempts are nothing like his! lol ![]() I also prefer to conserve my Macs, so I use them lightly, even though my latest Mac has me running SL and HS again, especially as I test out SheepShaver and Rosetta apps on SL!

Sorry, I didn't even see this until now. You're also appreciated, cballero! I love the little group we have. But due to the low number of posts, sometimes when I check here, there aren't any new posts, so sometimes I won't check this board for a while and I forget to check back more often. I'd love to start programming for Classic Mac OS, but I'm also working on a new 8088-based computer that I'm making, so that takes up most of my time, since it's so cool to make a computer from scratch and then actually use it and write software. But I do want to learn to program for Classic Mac OS. I haven't used my main System 7 Mac for a while now because the old CRT monitor went bad. I could use an LCD, though, but I prefer the "real" experience by using a CRT. But I've been too lazy to fix it lately, and I don't have anywhere to put the CRT while it's being worked on, so I've just left it on top of the Mac. But I'm thinking about setting it on the floor in my closet, since I really do miss using the Mac. Also in these scary times, I appreciate my friends around the world more than ever.
