Currently, my PB 520c is on 7.1.something and my SE/30 is on 7.1.something as well. I'm trying to take my PB 3400c down from 9.0.4 to 7.6.1, but am waiting for the special 7.6.1 CD to arrive in the mail. Oh, and my LC is running 7.0.something. That old thing hasn't been booted up in at least 5 years... I should really give it some love.

How well does that 5200 run with 7.6.1, out of curiosity, since that's widely considered one of (or the!) slowest PowerPC Macintosh ever... yet somebody must have thought it was fine when it was new.

My Quadra 840AV is still running Mac OS 7.6.1. One of the most powerful 68k Macs, ever.

I've been considering going back ot OS 9 on my Blueberry iMac, but I must say I find the concept of running 7.x today intriguing. I'd love to do it on my SE/30, but my 6100 is probably more practical.

I have a PBG3 Kanga (the 3400 with a G3 shoved in it) running 8.1...that's as close as I can get.

My IIci runs happily on 7.5.3 as I was not able to find the german upgrade to 7.5.5 up to now. I'll do another search on the apple servers these days when my Classic and Classic II will be staying with me. They are at a friends house until early april. The Quadra is running 8.1 at the moment and will keep it as with 8 I have the possibility to use Dave and properly share files with my non-Macintosh computers. I own an IBM ThinkPad 560X that has OS 7.5.5 running on it through an emulator and I also own a Macintosh IIsi with OS 7.1. My collection also houses a Macintosh LC 575 but that runs OS 8.1 and I have a PowerMac 8500/150 also but again, it has system 8 (8.6) on it and I can't do anything with it since the power supply got fried after a lightning strike last year. I've never used system 7 on my PowerMac but the LC 575 actually runs OS 8.1 every bit as well, if not better than OS 7.5.

I'm posting from the floor where I just finished laughing... :mrgreen: Got my 5200 finally so I know what you are talking about. This one is running Mac OS 8.1 still due to lack of System 7.6. I don't have a modem, I have a networking card for the machine. Works fine so far but is painfully slow. I'll replace the mainboard as soon as I'll find a 5400 or 6400 one.

I'm new here. System 7 Today was my inspiration to dust off my Power Mac 6500/300 and restore it to System 7.6.1. I've caught the bug, and am now attempting to acquire an old PowerBook to use as a dedicated school machine with System 7. My primary machine is a 20" iMac G5 running Tiger. I also have a Pismo (mostly collecting dust), a Yosemite (which is also mostly collecting dust), and a Strawberry iMac (which is only collecting dust). I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with an old Mac portable and System 7. Thanks for the inspiration! I'll keep everyone posted.

I currently reinstalled 7.6.1 on my performa 6200. For what I can do on there it's actually rather fast. My pb1400 is 7.6.1 and 8.6 depending on my needs.

I've got Mac OS 6.0.8, 7.0.1, 7.1, 7.5.5, 7.6.1, 8.1, 8.6, 9.2.2, and 10.4.6 running on various machine or, more accurately, running when I plug them in and boot them up. Because of this site, I'm thinking of standardizing as much as I can on 7.6.1.
